Experience

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Management. For the last 13 years, I have put my education to good use, first as a range technician for the Bureau of Land Management and then as the soils lab manager for an environmental laboratory. I’m now part of the regulatory department of a growing consulting company in the oil and gas industry.

I strongly believe that when you stop learning, you stop growing, so I’ve continued to add to my educational resume. Educational opportunities I’ve taken advantage of include:

• A technical writing certification program
• Grant writing workshops
• A copy writing seminar
• Salinity and Sodicity Issues in Soil and Water short course through Montana State University
• The New York Institute of Photography course
• The Long Ridge Writers Group “Breaking Into Print” course
• A NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) documentation workshop

In my “off time,” I work on perfecting my photography skills (a work in progress) and volunteer as a veterinary technician for the Montana Spay/Neuter Task Force www.mtspayneutertaskforce.org. I’ve written two successful grants for our community volunteer fire department. The first was a FEMA grant for $70,000 for new turn-out gear and the other was a matching grant from the Office of State Lands for a new first response/wild lands fire truck.

I believe that my varied experiences, both professional and personal, coupled with my desire for new challenges, prove my adaptability to new situations and make me better able to serve my clients.
